The Sea boarder project

The National Border Police Section, together with the Coast Guard, has identified the need for a joint project regarding sea borders to ensure a legally secure, efficient and uniform border control procedure. The primary purpose of the project is to strengthen the border management at the Swedish sea borders with the goal of ensuring that Sweden fully complies with the Schengen regulations for external border control at sea.

The project will focus om inter-agency cooperation, responsibilities within border control, and also look into the possible use of IT systems.

The two year project is financed by the BMVI instrument, and the project working group consists of staff from the Police and Coast Guard.
