North Atlantic Coast Guard Forum (NACGF)

The North Atlantic Coast Guard Forum is a voluntary forum with a rotating chairmanship. The Swedish Coast Guard has participated in the forum from the very beginning in 2007, and took on the duties as Chair of the forum in 2024. The Coast Guard will during the chairmanship organize an experts meeting in April and a high-level meeting in October.

Each Chair nation decides on a thematic area they will promote during their chairmanship and meetings. The Swedish Coast Guard has chosen; “Greening the Blue, Promoting sustainable practises in Coast Guard functions”. The aim of the chosen thematic area is to raise awareness, identify common challenges and exchange good practices within greening initiatives within the participating organizations. These aspects will be discussed and presented during the two planned meetings, hopefully the work will lead to improved national and international sustainability.

The chairmanship will continue throughout 2024, and will be formally handed over to Denmark during the high-level meeting in October.
