Permission for foreign government vessel

Special permission is required for parties that intend to access Swedish territorial waters with a foreign government vessel.

Request for permission has to be submitted to the Swedish Coast Guard at least six weeks prior the planned entry into Swedish  territory. The request relates to all foreign government vessels.

Applications should be submitted for foreign government vessels unless they are warships or government vessels being operated with maritime safety units. Decisions regarding granting access for warships or government vessels being operated with maritime safety units are made by the Ministry of Defence but issued by the Armed Forces.
